The Frances Langford Visitor Center welcomes the general public by showcasing marine displays and exhibits designed to fascinate both young and old. Aquariums, touch tanks, educational videos, mounted fish displays, interactive computers and replica of the Saballariid reef are only some of the highlights found.
On the 40-acre site a half-mile Maritime Hammock Nature Trail wanders through xeric hammocks, hardwood hammocks, and mangrove marsh on its way to the observation deck at the Indian River Lagoon. From the observation deck the ¾ mile Mangrove Marsh Loop Trail meanders through the old growth of the mangrove marsh to bring you back to the Center. The Trails are open Monday thru Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., with guided nature walks each morning at 10:30 a.m..
The Center also includes a gift store stocked with a bounty of marine related books, gifts, artwork and T-shirts.
