We Need You to Volunteer

Ages 12 & Up

    The Society needs more volunteers to help with a variety of task at the Coastal Science Center.

Areas for volunteering include:

Native Plants & Trail Aide:Assist with native plant propagation in the nursery and help maintain the trails.
Water Quality Tester:Perform weekly monitoring of the Coastal Marsh Enhancement Project.
Welcome Receptionist Store Assistant:Meet & greet visitors and give out information. Help in Gift Shop.
Interpretive Guide:In the Science Center, explain & demonstrate exhibits, and train as program specialist.
Program Specialist:Present slide and video programs and informational lectures on marine topics. Assist in organizing educational programs and materials.
Exhibit Curator Assistant:Aide the exhibit curator with maintaining live exhibits, collections and life support systems.
Writer/Researcher:Gather research information and write articles for the newsletter, magazines, educational brochures and assist with public relations and press releases.
Office Assistant:Assist staff with office organization,mail processing and computer data entry.
Librarian:Assist with the Society’s library collections, including circulation to members and researchers.
Special Projects:Help with research, surveys, educational programs and other specialized projects.
Student Interns:Jr. High, High School, and College students assisting science staff and volunteers in specific areas of need.
